IAJS Online Seminar: BodyDreaming in the Treatment of Developmental Trauma with Marian Dunlea

On behalf of the IAJS Board, I am pleased to remind you that our next IAJS online seminar with Marian Dunlea will begin on July 10th and end on July 14th, 2020.

Below you will find various details so that you may prepare for this event. Within the week, I will post Marian’s chapter from her book BodyDreaming in the Treatment of Developmental Trauma that she will use for background material.

July 10th -July 14th, 2020 with Marian Dunlea

Bio: Marian Dunlea M.Sc., IAAP, ICP, is a Jungian analyst and somatics practitioner who has been leading workshops internationally for the past 30 years integrating body mind and soul. She is head of training for BodySoul Europe, which is part of the Marion Woodman Foundation. With the development of her unique approach BodyDreaming®, Marian incorporates developments in neuroscience, trauma therapy, attachment theory with Jungian psychology, and the phenomenological standpoint of interconnectedness.

Her trainings include Jungian Analysis, Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, Psychosynthesis, Infant Observation, BodySoul Rhythms, and Somatic Experiencing. Her book, BodyDreaming in the Treatment of Developmental Trauma Routledge , won the Gradiva Award 2019 for best book with NAAP , National Association for the Advancement of Psychoanalysis. Marian has also been nominated for the annual IAJS Book Awards for BodyDreaming.
Marian’s book entitled Bodydreaming in the Treatment of Developmental Trauma, Gradiva award winner 2019 – best book category, is the background material for her seminar. The book outlines trauma theory and demonstrates with transcripts from client sessions how to use these resources and interventions for engaging with trauma.

For the first time, we will depart from the usual format of online seminars and adapt to a Zoom format.
By the end of the week, I will post a chapter from Marian’s book that you will use as background material.
Marian will present a 45 minute ZOOM video seminar session each day. Twenty minutes of the forty five minutes will be allotted for Q and A.


I will post a link to the Zoom seminar each day (the night before so that you may access the seminar in time). I will also send you a link so that you can download ZOOM. We are limited to 98 participants. You will need to register ahead of time and instructions for how to do that are forthcoming.
Marian will daily take questions and prepare answers each day (to be determined how) and post her answers on the IAJS list serve discussion forum.

We will begin at 6 am Pacific Standard time (Seattle, WA, USA). We ask that you arrive in the waiting room ahead of time.
The sessions will be recorded and posted on the IAJS website each day so that the membership may view the video’s online.
As we approach the date, more information about the logistics will be shared.
