Dr Maryann Barone-Chapman who died peacefully on Monday, 16th November 2020

Dear IAJS members,

DR MARYANN BARONE-CHAPMAN

It is with great sadness and regret that I share with you the passing of Dr Maryann Barone-Chapman who died peacefully on Monday, 16th November, after being critically ill for some time. Maryann was a personal, dear friend as well as a respected Jungian colleague. Many of you in IAJS  knew her well. She will be sadly missed.

Maryann was a former member of the IAJS executive committee and active in attending and participating in conferences and workshops in the UK, Europe and the US.

As a Jungian Analyst and Supervisor, she was passionate about all aspects of her clinical work and published a recent monograph entitled: ‘Personal and Cultural Shadows of Late Motherhood: Jungian Psychoanalytic Views,’ Routledge, 2019.

Maryann also wrote scholarly, stimulating chapters in other publications, so her vitality, courage and tenacity will live on in her writings and in our fondest memories of her.

With warm regards,

Liz Brodersen

  1. So devastated by Maryanne’s passing away. I was a close friend of hers in High School in Suffern, New York. Would be ever so appreciative to be contacted and receive more information if possible. She last contacted me about 8 months ago but I never really knew about about her illness.

  2. Ginny, I am so saddened to hear of the passing of your sister. I remember her during high school days.
Sending my prayers and condolences, from Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, to the entire Barone family.
