International Society for Psychology as the Discipline of Interiority
We are sending you this announcement because you have been suggested as someone who might be interested in psychology as the discipline of interiority. As Chair of the Executive Committee, I am very pleased to notify you of the inauguration of the International Society for Psychology as the Discipline of Interiority. The Committee felt the time had come for the creation of an association of individuals interested in a truly psychological psychology who would like to be able to communicate with one another on topics pertaining to this notion, and as it is particularly developed in the writings of Wolfgang Giegerich. We invite you to examine our newly constructed website, www.ispdi.org, to get a better sense of what we are about and to consider the benefits of membership in the Society. With your participation and thoughtful contributions to the issues with which we will be interested, we hope to further develop and critique the thinking initiated in Giegerich’s The Soul’s Logical Life and in his Collected English Papers, vols. I to IV edited by Greg Mogenson. In addition to the online resources that will be available to you as a member, we are also planning for a conference in Berlin next year where members can have the opportunity to interact face-to-face and get to know each other. As a member, we will keep you posted as to the details about the conference as we move ahead with the planning.
So there is no misunderstanding about the purpose of our Society, I must make it clear that we are not offering training or certification for any professional activities as a therapist or analyst or psychologist. Our Society is offering the opportunity for those interested in psychology as the discipline of interiority to have communication with others in the form of papers, discussions, meetings, and an online journal, The Psychological Difference, to deepen our understanding of the implications of our view of psychology. By becoming a member we presume you understand and accept these specific goals of the Society.
We hope you will decide to join us, and others, in this exciting intellectual venture of the Society.
